Executive Director
Linda McKeever
During a 20-year career in the financial services and banking industries, Linda McKeever devoted thousands of hours to non-profit boards – including a five-year stint on the Open Heart Kitchen board of directors.
With the organization on the brink of closing its doors due to lack of funding, McKeever was named Executive Director in March 2008. Under her leadership, OHK was reorganized, vastly expanded its donor and volunteer base, stabilized its financial status and markedly increased its distribution to meet unprecedented demand for food in the Tri-Valley.
Today, Open Heart Kitchen serves as a model organization among California “soup kitchens” – preparing more than 200,000 hot, nutritious meals for residents of Dublin, Pleasanton and Livermore annually and serving them in an atmosphere that preserves each client’s dignity.
During McKeever’s tenure, OHK has been featured on ABC World News with Diane Sawyer, CBS Sunday Morning with Charles Osgood and in numerous newscasts on regional network affiliates.
McKeever has a B.A. in education and completed the non-profit certification program at
Cal State East Bay.
