More than 37% of the households in the Tri Valley are rent-overburdened,
paying more than 30% of their monthly gross income for rent.

Supporting families and individuals in need in Livermore, the East Livermore Hot Meal Program is Open Heart Kitchen's "flagship" project where the agency has been addressing the hunger needs of the community for over ten years. Meals are available from 12 noon to 6:00 pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at Asbury United Methodist Church, 4743 East Avenue, Livermore. Anyone can receive a free nutritious hot meal made from scratch by volunteers. Meals include a protein and a starch (like chicken and rice), fresh vegetables, green salad, fruit salad, beverages and dessert. Guests are welcome to either dine in or take meals to go.
