Open Heart Kitchen hosted the 2023 Heart of the Tri-Valley Gala fundraiser on September 8th. More than 200 supporters attended the event and raised a record-breaking $170,000! Thank you to our sponsors, attendees, speakers, auction item donors, staff, and vendors who made this evening a success.
During the event, Open Heart Kitchen’s Executive Director, John Bost, announced the latest program of the OHK family – the Open Heart Refuge – an overnight emergency shelter program that will be offered at the new Vineyard 2.0 facility in Livermore, which is currently under construction and scheduled to open later this year. We are forever grateful to Doug Quadara for his vision to begin an outreach to unhoused folks in the Tri-Valley more than a decade ago that eventually grew into the Livermore Homeless Refuge (LHR). With LHR ending, Open Heart Kitchen is proud to carry on this vitally important service to the unhoused members of our community.
