Open Heart Kitchen Hosts Annual Fundraiser “Black and White Party”

Proceeds go to our neighbors in need
Pleasanton, CA, July 2018: Open Heart Kitchen is hosting its annual “Black and White Party” fundraiser in support of the organization’s mission of providing prepared, nutritious meals free of charge to the hungry people of the Tri-Valley area.
This year’s event takes place on Friday, August 17th at 6pm at the Palm Event Center in Pleasanton. Wear your favorite black and white outfit and join us for an evening of fine wine, live music, live and silent auctions and dinner.
Proceeds from the event go toward feeding the hungry in the Tri-Valley area. Open Heart Kitchen’s Executive Director Heather Greaux states, “There is often a misconception that there aren’t people in the Tri-Valley that would need our services, but that sadly isn’t the case. We have neighbors that are having to choose between essentials like rent or medicine and food. This includes populations like the underemployed, low-income seniors, and children of families struggling to get by.” She continues, “Thousands of children in Pleasanton, Livermore and Dublin receive free/reduced school lunches during the week but lack a secure source of nutrition over the weekend. Open Heart Kitchen addresses this gap by providing free bagged weekend lunches to Tri-Valley schools every week.”
About Open Heart Kitchen: Open Heart Kitchen is the largest hot meal program of its kind in the Tri-Valley Area of Northern California, feeding the hungry 7 days a week across multiple locations in Pleasanton, Livermore and Dublin. There is no qualifying process and meals may be eaten at numerous serving sites or taken to go.
Open Heart Kitchen serves people in need through three meal programs, the hot meal program, the senior meal program, and the children’s weekend bag lunch program. Guests come from all walks of life and Open Heart Kitchen has become a safety net to those in need during challenging times. Last year, Open Heart Kitchen served more than 330,000 meals to those who needed it.
