Donation Policy
Open Heart Kitchen is so grateful for the generosity of the donors in our local community. Your food donations helped us provide over 300,000 meals last year.
We hope to make it easier for donors who wish to hold food drives, by listing the accepted food and supplies donations on our website:

Due to limited resources we are unable accept food that is open, expired or dented. Food items that have been collected, but are not on our list, can be donated to local food pantries, such as Tri-Valley Haven Food Pantry and Interfaith Sharing. We work in collaboration with these food pantries and love being able to share in the kindness of donors.

We encourage donors to purchase gift cards from grocery stores, which allows us to purchase fresh items that we can use in our meal programs, or contribute to a virtual food drive:

A donation to a virtual food drive allows us to use our purchasing power to maximize the impact of the contribution by purchasing the items we need at wholesale prices.

Here is a link to a great article about this “not so new” trend:

Donations can be dropped off Monday-Friday 10:30am – 5:30pm at our Pleasanton Kitchen location at:

Large donations (more than 15 bags or 10 boxes) are by appointment only at our Livermore storage location.
Please contact the Operations Director at 925-580-1616, EXT. 403 or Email to schedule an appointment.

Thank you for your on-going support of our mission and the work that we do. We could not do it without your thoughtfulness and big-heartedness.
