We cannot accept donation drop offs at the Catalina Drive address. It is strictly a mailbox location.

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Our Tax ID# is 94-3396038.
Open Heart Kitchen fulfills our mission through 3 basic meal programs:
1.) The Hot Meal program, which serves prepared meals free of charge to all members of our community
2.) The Senior Meal program, which provides nutritious meals and an opportunity to socialize for guests aged 60 and above
3.) The Street Outreach program, which is tailored to the needs of our neighbors experiencing homelessness by providing meals and resources
Volunteer
FAQs about volunteering at Open Heart Kitchen
Advance registration is required for all volunteer opportunities at Open Heart Kitchen. Walk-in volunteer shifts are not available.
No, you cannot bring a child when volunteering. Our minimum age to volunteer is 18 years old.
Open Heart Kitchen has volunteer opportunities in Dublin, Pleasanton, Livermore, and Danville. Volunteer shifts vary, but typically take place on weekdays during the mornings and mid/late afternoons. To begin the sign-up process, please email volunteerservices@openheartkitchen.org

Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and complete a volunteer waiver prior to their first shift with Open Heart Kitchen. To protect the vulnerable population we work with, Open Heart Kitchen also requires all volunteers to show proof of Covid-19 vaccination, including the first Booster. Volunteers who wish to work at client-facing sites must also undergo a background check.
