Hosting a fundraiser for Open Heart Kitchen is a powerful way to bring people together while helping ensure our neighbors have access to nutritious meals and essential services.

From birthdays and anniversaries to community events and workplace campaigns, third-party fundraisers play a vital role in supporting our mission—and we’re grateful for your interest in getting involved.

 Start Here: Tell Us About Your Fundraiser 

We’re so grateful you’re considering Open Heart Kitchen as part of your event or fundraiser! To help us support your efforts and ensure everything runs smoothly, all third-party fundraisers must be reviewed and approved in advance.

Please complete our Fundraising Proposal Form before getting started. We ask that submissions be made at least 8 weeks prior to your event.

Approval is required before using Open Heart Kitchen’s name or logo.

 What We Mean by “Third-Party Fundraiser” 

A third-party fundraiser is any event or activity organized by an individual, group, or business to benefit Open Heart Kitchen. These events are independently run, with limited involvement from our staff, but play a vital role in supporting our mission.

 Fundraising Guidelines 

To protect your event—and our shared impact—please follow these guidelines:

Before Your Event

  • Submit your proposal at least 8 weeks in advance

  • Receive approval before using OHK’s name or logo

 

Using Our Name & Logo

  • Use only official logos provided by our team

  • Do not include “Open Heart Kitchen” in your event title
    (Example: “Golf Tournament benefiting Open Heart Kitchen”)

  • All materials must be reviewed before being shared

Promoting Your Fundraiser

  • Clearly state how proceeds will benefit OHK

  • Include details like:

    • Portion of proceeds donated

    • Campaign timeframe

    • Any maximum contribution

What’s Not Allowed

  • Door-to-door or telemarketing fundraising

  • Opening bank accounts in OHK’s name

  • Depositing checks made out to Open Heart Kitchen

 How to Talk About Our Work 

When sharing your fundraiser, we ask that you use respectful, accurate language that reflects our mission.

Open Heart Kitchen provides equitable access to nutritious food today while building a food-secure tomorrow. We serve individuals and families from all walks of life and strive to create a welcoming, stigma-free environment.

We’re here to support you! While third-party events are independently run, we may be able to provide:

  • Digital materials and messaging

  • Limited signage (based on availability)

  • General guidance and best practices

If you plan to seek sponsorships, please share your outreach list with us—we may already have relationships in place.

 After Your Fundraiser 

Thank you for your effort and impact!

  • Please submit funds within 45 days of your event

  • Mail checks payable to Open Heart Kitchen to:
    1141 Catalina Drive #137, Livermore, CA 94550

 

Important note: Only donations made directly to Open Heart Kitchen are tax-deductible.
