Knowledge is powerful. We cannot adress hunger without first understanding it. Alameda County has a food insecurity rate of 9.6% (159,150 residents). Our community members are facing hunger, but they don't have to face it alone. We must have hard conversations and reduce the stigma around using supportive services. Tell people about Open Heart Kitchen's services and other supportive programs. Educate your children, so they understand hunger. Use online tools to learn about hunger and it's causes.
